Aptrinsic’s Product Experience Platform Empowers SaaS Companies to Acquire, Retain, and Grow Customers

First complete product experience platform enables SaaS companies to increase product adoption and time to value by guiding customers to experience product value early in the buying cycle

Aptrinsic just launched its Product Experience Platform. Designed for product managers and product marketers, the Aptrinsic platform enables SaaS companies to deliver great product experiences by guiding their customers to really know, love, and use their  products.

Aptrinsic is tackling a problem faced by product management and marketing teams at thousands of SaaS software companies. When you sign up to test-drive a software product, you’re often given a trial account. Maybe you like the software, maybe you don’t. Perhaps you decide not to go ahead. The SaaS vendor is unaware of what you did.

Similarly, maybe you do go ahead and sign up for the product, but then you struggle to master it — and possibly decide it wasn’t worth the money after all. You’re disappointed. The SaaS vendor is none the wiser.

Or maybe you do like it, but you’re unaware of cool features that would really help you get more value out of it. Should you upgrade to gain access to new features? Are they right for you?

Nick Bonfiglio, CEO and co-founder of Aptrinsic, saw the need for a better approach to improve product adoption and retention while he was EVP of global product at Marketo:

“We had no firsthand data about how our customers were using our products, which meant we couldn’t make feature decisions based on true insights. With Aptrinsic, we’ve built the product that I wished we’d had at Marketo. Aptrinsic goes beyond in-depth product and behavioral analytics; we enable SaaS companies to personalize a user’s adoption journey while they are using your product.”

This is a big departure from the usual approach to marketing SaaS products. Which typically involves tons of effort to promote, qualify, onboard, and sell. It also makes it much easier to learn which features people use or want, which is a perennial challenge for development and product management teams.

The Aptrinsic Product Experience Platform tracks which features are being used, and user  behaviors as they use the product. Based on these insights, product management and marketing teams can build on-boarding experiences and send messages to users in-product (via guides, sliders, walk-throughs) and outside the product (via email).

  • Aptrinsic was founded by two former execs from Marketo: Nick Bonfiglio (VP product at Marketo) and Mickey Alon (VP engineering at Marketo).

  • While at Marketo, they were frustrated by the struggle to truly understand how their customers were using their product. What they wanted —from product trial through sale, adoption, upgrade and renew— was a way to engage with each user based on their unique needs, and then to personalize the product to ensure each user derived the maximum value.

  • So, they started Aptrinsic to deliver a platform to enable SaaS companies to transform how they market their products.
