Luma Health debuts LumaPay — now patients can pay med bills via SMS

Luma Health launched with the mission of helping healthcare organizations play a more active role in delivering patient success at every step of a patient’s healthcare journey (access/operational, clinical, and financial). Since then, Luma has made it easier for 35 million people to find, access, and get their needed healthcare.

Until now, Luma has often talked about 'patient engagement'. What's become clearer over the years is that patients don't necessarily want to be engaged; rather, at the end of the day, they want to be helped.

Luma's CEO, Adnan Iqbal, explains: 

"Today, too many patients and their loved ones have to be their own champions: advocating for the care they need, waiting on hold, preparing for visits, collecting medical records, verifying insurance, finding the funds to pay, and more. Then, it starts all over again the next time. Providers across the U.S. have told us about this disconnect and how much they want to solve it. But their existing tools haven’t been enough."

To support the evolving needs of healthcare providers and their patients, Luma just rebranded and launched a new platform. As part of the move, the company debuted LumaPay™, a new service for healthcare systems that provides patients a better and more transparent financial journey.

LumaPay is the inaugural module of LumaFinancial, the financial product within Luma’s Patient Success Platform™. It enables patients to pay their bills right from text messages or their providers’ websites.

 

ZingPR secured broad coverage across key media outlets

ZingPR assisted with the launch LumaPay as part of the wider rebranding of Luma Health. The objective was to secure media coverage in publications that reach target audiences: hospitals (admin and IT), payers, healthcare providers.

Following targeted and tailored media outreach to 140+ journalists, editorial was secured in 12 publications across hospital administration, healthcare IT, fintech/payments, and customer experience.
