Brickit, the killer app for LEGO enthusiasts, just got smarter!

Every parent knows the pain. It happens at the dead of night, when you’re trying to silently tread into the kitchen and not wake up anyone. Then, it happens, you step on a solitary LEGO brick.

The thing is, most families have amassed a vast assortment of LEGOs. What started off as the original set (Rome colosseum, Disney Castle, Star Wars spacecraft) has since expanded (birthday gifts, etc.) into a random collection of every LEGO brick known to man.

Over the years, this evolving collection of bricks had been migrated into series of plastic tubs that sit there, reminding us that we have a LEGO problem.

What if there were an app that could give new life to that inert collection of LEGOs?

Imagine an app that scans a tabletop of bricks, figures out what you have, and then suggests model ideas.

Maybe like this:

Guess what, this app exists!

It's called Brickit. It launched somewhat quietly last year, and has since been attracting a loyal following of LEGO fans who are using it to rediscover the joy of LEGO and to reconnect parents with their kids in a creative pastime.

The Brickit team wanted to launch a massive upgrade to Brickit for iOS and Android: a powerful, new machine learning and AI, some premium features, and a way to share your creations with the Brickit community.

To make it happen, ZingPR tapped US and UK expertise to get the news in front of top consumer journalists. We aimed for both print and broadcast coverage, because this is one app that is best seen in action.

A phased approach delivered results across technology and consumer media
